How to change time and data on Motorola W409g

Postby TySummers » Tue Feb 07, 2012 11:53 pm

I consider myself experienced in tech, so i find myself very surprised to not know how to change the date or time on my new Motorola W409g phone. I have gone into settings, phone settings, phone settings, and cannot find anything there. The only thing relevant is the option to display time and date on the screen, but not how to change the two.

I am sure someone else would have posted about this problem if they experience what I am, so I hope one of you smart people can tell me how to change the date and time.

Thanks

Hi, TySummers. My name is NET10 Shelly and I will be addressing your inquiry today. The date and time on Motorola W409G must be automatically set up upon activation of the phone. The time will be based on your time zone. While your phone is on, please try to remove the battery and the SIM card for about 60 seconds. Re-insert the SIM card, install the battery back in, turn your phone on, and please check if the date and time change. Thank you.

Hi TySummers. My name is NET10 Stephanie and I will be addressing your inquiry today. As NET10 Shelly mentioned, the phone is auto-update. That means that the time will automatically update based on your location. Thanks!

Like most phones , it is controlled by the service. If the phone is active and has a recognized SIM card it will show the correct time and date relative to the nearest cell phone communications tower.

I'm in the same boat. I reset the phone - took the battery and sim card out; let them set for a while (uncertain - probably over 5 minutes) put it all back together expecting to be able to update time/date.
Saw where it should happen automatically when in range of a tower ( I'm normally not, I live 20 miles beyond he nearest tower ) was in town today, made two calls, one of which was to Net10. My phone still reads Jan 01, 2004. Not exactly a good time date.
Joining the chorus here - help!!!! //al
