iPhone 3GS Activation Nightmare

I purchased a prepaid SIM card for my nephew for Christmas and gave him the old iPhone 3Gs I used to use with AT&T... We called, they said it was activated and that my airtime minutes had been added (and his APN settings are updated)... His calls fail right away, so they advised me to wait 10 minutes... The calls are still failing, so I call back. This time they said to way 3-24 hours... Now, 24+ hours later the calls are still failing! I have called Net10 between 5 and 6 times in the last two days and each time they promise the issue is resolved, but the calls STILL fail!

Am I doing something wrong?

Did anyone else have this problem?
