CDMA or GSM Phone

CDMA or GSM Phone

Postby beclemens » Sun Oct 07, 2012 9:37 pm

Hello,

I live in Omaha, NE and will be spending most of my time in Nebraska and the midwest and have found that Verizon offers the best network of the major players in the area. I'm wondering if that means I should get a CDMA phone opposed to the GSM phone or if they would both receive similar coverage due to Net10's various agreements

Thanks

Take a look at the online coverage maps to see which service covers your area of interest best. Net10 prefers to supply GSM, but coverage in a lot of areas is not as good as CDMA (VZW)

Hello,

The Omaha zipcode is 68164, the other area in Nebraska we travel to frequently is more rural and is 68957.

Also if buying phones from your website are they identified as GSM or CDMA?

A phone model ending in "G" is a GSM (these also use a SIM)
A phone model ending in "C" is a CDMA (these generally don't use a SIM)

68164 has GSM and CDMA I'd get a CDMA phone - it should work nicely in both areas

Hi beclemens . All carriers work in your area. It means you can use either CDMA or GSM phone. Thanks.
